This page records the commencement provisions of the principal rules and of the amending rules
applied to this compendium. It is a record maintained by the Standards Cell; the operative text of
each provision is reproduced from the notification that made it.

## Principal rules

**Rule 1(2).** They shall come into force on the 1st day of April, 2011.

Published vide notification G.S.R. 202(E), dated the 7th March, 2011.

## Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Amendment Rules, 2022

Published vide notification G.S.R. 226(E), dated the 28th March, 2022.

**Rule 1(2).** They shall come into force on the 1st Day of December, 2022.

## Notifications moving the commencement date

The date at which the 2022 Amendment Rules take effect was moved several times. The Department holds
the notifications marked *held* below; the others are recorded from the citation chain printed in the
notifications that follow them, and their text has not been obtained.

Only the amendment to the commencement provision made by **G.S.R. 747(E)** has been applied to the
operative text above. The remainder of the chain is recorded but not applied, because the
intervening notification G.S.R. 910(E) — which set the date that G.S.R. 60(E) then amends — is not
held by the Department. Applying a later link of a chain whose earlier link is missing would produce
a consolidated text that never existed.
